Jonestown: The Power and the Myth of Alan Jones
by Chris Masters
Hardcover from Allen & Unwin

Alan Jones is a broadcaster of the "shock jock" variety on Sydney's venerable 2GB, once a bastion of honest opinion, unbiased political comment and education.

Jones has been admonished in the courts for his vile remarks on race relations, and in the Australian Parliament for his awful remarks about the Prime Minister's recently deceased father.

There are dozens if not hundreds of pages devoted to Alan Jones - very few of them are complimentary.

Jones Town by Chris Masters. Extensive article on Alan Jones. Not a pretty picture.

Wikipedia states:
"His on-air conduct has attracted numerous adverse findings from Australia's media regulators, and one on-air incident resulted in Jones being charged with contempt of court, of which he was found guilty of breaching the law but the charge was dismissed. In October 2012, the NSW Administrative Decisions Tribunal upheld his conviction for inciting hatred and for vilification."

Alan Jones the shock jock is not to be confused with Alan Jones the Australian racing driver.
