Don't panic...
It's not in the box it's supposed to be in. It's not on the bookshelves. There is no record of it being sold (have been through *all* the emails, just in case).
I have a nagging suspicion that I had a look at it when it came in and put it away in a safe place, but for the life of me I cannot recall any more about it, not even what it looks like.
I'll keep searching.

John:
It looks like this. Let me know when you find it.

I've issued a refund, John.
I've been through all the emails back to well before I got the book - no reference. I've pulled everything out of the box it was supposed to be in, again, then searched through all the other similar boxes it could have possibly been put back in by mistake. I've searched the bookshelves two or three more times. I've even pulled a couple of boxes out from under my bed that I'd forgotten existed.
I'm beginning to suspect the cat ate it.
I'll let you know if it turns up.
My apologies for this.

Hi. Did you find the magazine? I noticed you still have it listed.

No John, as I said, I cannot find it. I will update the page accordingly - it will say "sold" as I don't think "lost" is appropriate.
I take it the refund arrived safely.

Yes I received the refund. So how many enquires have you had for the mag in the last few days?

Me:
One.

(a few moments later)
Are you implying that I have sold it to someone else for a higher price? If so, that's very sad.

John:
Yeah, well, I know that you have received more than one, considering that your website was posted on a public forum, regarding this magazine, with over 300 people so far, viewing the thread. I noticed that AFTER I found out the price and payment details, that you updated the Mag by underlining it and listing the amount. Now logic dictates you didn't do that for my benifit, and obviously it was easier to list the price, than reply to all the emails. I have no doubt you sold it to the highest bidder. You obviously are deceptive, because you are going to list the mag as sold, but tell me you lost it. Why don't you just delete it completely?  Regardless 'if' you lost it, which I don't believe, or sold it to the highest bidder, I will be letting people know on this forum and others to steer well clear of your website. I wish all the bad luck to come your way and to the person that purchased it. You don't deserve to have a successful business, with the way you operate...

You're absolutely right, John. I should be executed without benefit of trial. And that goes for the sod who cheated you out of what is rightfully yours and offered me six million pounds for it. And don't for goodness sake ask on the forum if anyone emailed me about the book because they won't reply. And don't tell me which forum it is, because of course I trawl all the forums and already know.

I do hope life improves for you, John.

I guess I should have put it on Ebay. Maybe it really is worth six million pounds.
