
This is the fourth in a series of four paintings of varying sizes, depicting the story of two snakes on their journey through the region from 'Ranges' (Warburton) to Wingellina (near the Northern Territory - Western Australia - South Australia junction in outback Australia. The artwork is unique to Norma Mclean, a traditional elder from the Ngaanyatjarra region. This painting is 66 x 40 cm (26 x 15"), comes with a certificate of authenticity, and diagram outlining the various features depicted in the painting. The mostly Ngaanyatjarra artists have a long history of art and craft. Their colouful acrylic paintings on canvas have received a great deal of attention from collectors. Artists of this group include Cliff Reid, Kantjupayi Benson, Angilya Mitchell, Jimmy Donegan, Reggie Jackson, and Freda Lane.
