I noticed on your website (page URL given below) the perpetuation of
a common error. Our current president's name contains 'Junior' as
no part of it, and should not, given that his name is *not* otherwise identical
to that of his father. Presumably, to easily distinguish between
him and his father, our current president is referred to in this way, as
'Jr.' or 'II' ('the second'). The two, however, are easily distinguished
without making the mistake of calling one 'Junior' or 'Senior' or adding
the erroneous 'II' to one's name: Our current president is George Walker
Bush, and the one directly preceding Clinton is George Herbert Walker Bush.
Since it is incorrect to refer to the former Reagan V.P. as 'George W.
Bush', using this name is sufficient to identify our current president
and to distinguish him from his father, George H. W. Bush. Please
correct this error on your website if you think it is part of your goal
to promote the education, rather than misinformation, of visitors of your
site.
Interestingly, G.W. Bush's former competitor, Albert Gore was never
in the media referred to as 'Junior', despite that actually being part
of his name, which was necessary to distinguish him from his father, also
a politician, with an (otherwise) identical name. If I may briefly
editorialize, it is not difficult to see why in the 2000 race the pro-Gore
media pushed on Bush the illegitimate label 'Junior' and hid the fact that
'Junior' is actually part of Gore's name.
